Charles Rudd Distinguished Global Lectures 2024

The Charles Rudd Distinguished Global Lectures (CRDGL) was held on Monday, 4 March 2024 at Singapore Polytechnic Convention Centre, in celebration of World Engineering Day (WED).

Over 1,300 participants joined the annual three-hour hybrid event virtually and in-person to celebrate World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development. Proclaimed by UNESCO at its 40th General Conference in 2019, WED is celebrated worldwide on 4 March each year since 2020 as a UNESCO international day of celebration to highlight engineers and engineering’s achievements in our modern world.

Calling all students from secondary schools, junior colleges, Institutes of Technical Education (ITEs), polytechnics, and universities - Sign-ups are now open for YOU to take part in the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC) 2024!

Form a team of up to five (depending on category) to take part and design/invent a product to demonstrate your understanding of the given problem statement. Under the mentorship of experienced practising engineers and academia, every participant will gain valuable experience in not only imagining but taking action to shape a better, more sustainable world.
